Do you love packing up a picnic full of tasty treats and finding somewhere with glorious views to enjoy your lunch? Crantock Beach is one of our favourite picnic spots in Newquay. Famed for its swimming, snorkelling, surfing, and the occasional dolphin visit, Crantock remains surprisingly quiet, even during the warmer months. Whether you want to refuel after an invigorating dip in the water, or simply sit back and watch as other people take the plunge, this beach is the perfect place to lay out a picnic rug and crack open the snacks and a glass of something chilled under the sun.

Pay a visit to The Japanese Garden

Spring not only brings with it new wildlife, but new flora and fauna as well. It’s the perfect time of year to explore vibrant gardens awakening from their winter hibernation. One of the most unique gardens we’d recommend exploring is The Japanese Garden, located in the small village of St Mawgan, just outside Newquay. It’s unlike anything you’ve seen before, with Japanese Maples unfurling in the brightest reds and greens, streams gurgling and birdsong filling the air. You’ll find a Bonsai nursery, Cherry blossoms, Camellias, waterfalls, bamboo groves, a Zen Garden, a tea house, and so much more. It truly does make for an inspiring spring day out.
