Chasing the Sunset – Newquay’s Best Sunset Spots

There’s something magical about witnessing a sunset and when it comes to breathtaking sunsets, few places rival the stunning beaches of Newquay along the North Cornish Coast

Below are our top five sunset watching spots in and around Newquay so grab your picnic blanket, food and drinks and head to the beach to witness an amazing Cornish Sunset

Fistral Beach – Our top spot has to be Fistral Beach, the most famous beach in Cornwall. Famous for its world-class surfing conditions, Fistral Beach also offers an unparalleled vantage point for witnessing the sun dip below the horizon. Whether you’re sitting on the beach, having a drink at Fistral Beach bar or sitting up on the cliffs in front of the iconic Headland Hotel, you will not be disappointed (15 minute drive from The Beeches Glamping).

Holywell Bay – Another one of our favourite spots. This picturesque beach, with its sweeping sand dunes and dramatic rock formations, provides a stunning backdrop for watching the sun go down. Whether you’re taking a leisurely stroll along the shoreline or climbing to the top of the sand dunes, Holywell Bay offers endless opportunities for capturing the perfect sunset photo (18 minute drive from The Beeches Glamping).

Lusty Glaze Beach -Nestled within a secluded private cove, Lusty Glaze Beach makes it an idyllic setting for watching the sunset. Enjoy drinks and pizzas from the café on the beach, check on the Lusty Glaze website before you go as sometime the beach is closed for weddings and private events (15 minute drive from The Beeches Glamping).

Watergate Bay – The perfect place to end the day with spectacular sunsets, at low tide you can walk along the beach and at high tide you can enjoy a picnic on the sand, walk up the costal path onto the cliffs or visit one of the cafes and restaurants situated above the beach for the best sunset views (15 minute drive from The Beeches Glamping).

Perranporth Beach – Enjoy 3 miles of golden sand and expansive sand dunes to explore while the sun goes down on this beautiful beach. Visit the UK’s only bar on the beach, The Watering Hole for a sundowner on the sand.  Check their website for events as they often have live music on the beach (20 minute drive from The Beeches Glamping).
